Secretary-General Emeritus

2019-2021

My name is Sophie Touma-Sawaya and I am a senior at the Dubai American Academy. I am currently serving my second term as the Secretary-General of DAAMUN. Throughout my high school career, I have developed a passion for MUN, and thus I have attended numerous conferences, both as a chair and as a delegate. As a delegate, I won different awards, including the “Best Speaker Award” at AUSMUN. The highlight of my chairing career was my position as Head Chair in the MUNoV conference, held at the United Nations Headquarters in Vienna. I have also taken part in 2 different executive teams, serving as Director of Finance, Deputy Secretary-General, and Secretary-General at my old school. I am extremely grateful to be able to continue my MUN career at DAA as Secretary-General. I have been really lucky to work with DAA’s exceptional executive team and administration to lead our internal MUN Club throughout the year and organize our annual conference!

Raseel Abbar

Deputy Secretary-General Emeritus

2019-2021

My name is Raseel Abbar and I am the Deputy Secretary-General of Logistics for this year’s MUN. This year my job is to take part in the organization of local conferences such as our own DAAMUN and to also help out at the weekly Monday meetings after school which is when the club takes place. I have been doing MUN since 8th grade and I, along with everyone else, understand how it can sometimes be a little intimidating or complex. That’s why this year, we are working hard to make MUN a fun experience for everyone, and to create an atmosphere where everyone feels comfortable to speak out and experience the fun of MUN. I am super excited to be a part of the team this year, and to have the opportunity to watch new delegates grow into strong debaters!
Tanya Nanda

Director of Operations & Logistics Emeritus

2019-2021

My name is Tanya Nanda, and I am a senior at Dubai American Academy. As the Director/Head of Operations at DAAMUN 2020-2021, I am honoured to be part of the executive team and to use my leadership skills to make MUN a more efficient platform to discuss in an open, transparent, and candid manner. I have been part of this club as a delegate since the 8th grade, participating in numerous internal and external conferences. I hope to bring my experience and organizational skills to MUN, and to make conferences more organized and well planned. As Head of Operations, my goal is to keep the club extremely well ordered, and during conferences to make sure everything runs smoothly, including scheduling, dining, and arranging materials. I will also work with other members of the team to help in meetings and debates. To conclude, I hope that DAA MUN can bring all delegates together to create a community that brings together a vast range of knowledge and ideas.

Secretary-General Emeritus

2018-2020

I have been doing MUN for 4 years and have successfully completed 10 conferences and organized one DAAMUN conference as Secretary General. It is my great pleasure to serve as Secretary General for a second time for DAAMUN. I began MUN to understand the world around me, to communicate with people, to learn from others and understand the opinions of other people. MUN has given me skills that help me in my everyday life and I would like to help other delegates reach and achieve their full potential. As the Secretary General of DAAMUN 2020, I wish to help all delegates recognize their role in the world today and to signify their importance in resolving the issues of the present and the future.

Claudio Falcioni

Deputy Secretary-General Emeritus

2019-2021

I joined MUN because I thought it was an interesting way to debate about world topics and improve my public speaking skills. Turns out it’s way more than that. MUN gave me political knowledge, global awareness and overall shaped me as an individual. I acquired analytical and writing skills, along with on-the-spot thinking and problem-solving. Plus, it's a load of fun! I am proud to serve as the club's Deputy Secretary General for Logistics, and I hope you will enjoy MUN as much as me!
